Dear O.S. With regard to existence or not of Buffalo Injector Co. I just came across a reference to the company. I found it several pages deep in an excursion on Google under Steam Injector. It was a copy of a 1905 book or magazine that referred to the Buffalo Injector as made by the Sherwood Valve Co. Of Buffalo, N.Y. The injector depicted was a little different than yours, but I believe it is the same company. I believe Sherwood Valve is still extant, I remember seeing their factory in some upstate New York town on the Erie Canal that we stayed in on a long Catawissa cruise several years ago. They make high pressure forged brass gas valves for use on compressed gas cylinders. I have them on my argon, acetylene and oxygen cylinders

I also found a reference to Preston Steam Services of Great Britain for spare parts and rebuilt Buffalo Injectors. The ones they showed are exactly like yours.

Hope this is of help in your quest for Buffalo Knowledge . Best regards, Steamboat Mike

Thanks Mike. That's some interesting background that I will delve into. I'm aware of Preston Steam Services and their overhaul/parts service but their fees for same are eyeball-swivelling when you consider what a simple bit of kit these things are. Albeit with the potential to send strong men into cardiac arrest mode.
