Silver soldering isn't hard; just a higher temp and CLEAN parts, I was using a rod made for copper and it worked fine, after all this is decorative. The four valves are for the aux stuff; a repeating pressure gauge in the cabin, tea kettle, bilge eductor, and cabin heat. I've always liked the look of the British locomotive, at least BEFORE the nationalization, maybe not as butch or MANLY as a Big Boy but quite elegant with hidden plumbing. So those valves ARE Stanley and buried in the insulation. And yes Wes the old boiler is in the first pic posted, look beneath the Morris sign on the far wall behind the oxy welder. For silver soldering have a look at "Muggyweld" SSF-6. It is amazingly easy to use. I built a brass muffler with a preheater coil for my steam car and it worked perfectly.
