The pumps are both driven off of the LP rod with a simple rocker assembly. The boiler feed is nothing fancy -just a 5/8 in displacement style pump the other pump is an Edwards type pump which works well for me but there has been discussion somewhere in this forum that this style doesn't always work well in this application.

Den, that is a beautiful engine. Did you make that? What are the dimensions?

The price of a copper boiler will be quite a bit more than you welded specimen me thinks.

Hi Den,

Gorgeous engine !!!! If you get a chance and it is not too incovenient, do you think you could take a close up of the linkage between the pumps and the engine ? I am going to be running a single cylinder that is set up with a side crank so I can only drive off one end of the shaft. I do have room for a couple of additional eccentrics though, so I could put two pumps across from each other, but I am wondering if I could do some sort of lever set up.

Have you seen anyone running a separate steam pump for make up water ? You would not have the constant hp drain when you are running, just a minor steam diversion when needed. I guess you also get the benefit of being able to supply water to the boiler without running the main engine................when you are at the dock refilling the cooler...........
