Hi Jon,

I am using an inoard condensor for over 7 years without truble on my Emma. Because Emma can only be craned out, it would costs a lot to inspect or repair an out board condenser. Additional you are more flexible with vacuum/hot well temp. by just changing the pump rpm.

This is my layout:

Big advantage are the short pipes between where the vacuum is generated and the LP cylinder. Additional the water flows direct into the vac-pump. I alwayys have a vaccum better than -0,9 bar.

Some people didn't beleve this vacuum so we interchanged the gauge already between boats....

This pump:

delivers about 15 liter/minute

Additional with this you always have warm water for cleaning the deck.

Just a small point. The Hypro on my boat and all of the ones I've seen are not roller pumps. They are two cylinder piston pumps and continue to pump away no mater which direction they are turned. No extra check valves for reversing needed.

Hi Mike,

You surely are referring to the Hypro twin piston pump which is used as feed-water pump. The flow direction remains the same irrespective of the direction of rotation.

The Hypro roller pump used as circulation or cooling pump indeed changes the flow direction. The blue pump on the following picture is the roller pump Hypro 4101 (4 rollers).

Aha! This is a big reason I am on here. I didn't know that Hypro made a roller pump.
