K. N. Harris' Twin Launch Engine

Recently I was leafing through my copy of K. N. Harris' 'Model Stationary and Marine Steam Engines (2nd edition)' and came across his twin non-condensing engine in the last chapter. He claims it's suitability for a launch of 14-16ft (2.25" X 2") but there are few real details. Has anyone in out there in Steam-land any more details or information of this engine?

He provides a general arrangement drawing, so I presume at some stage a full drawing set was available, but from whom?

Still drawing (intended  ) a blank on this one despite placing it on several forum. Good job I've been busy on other projects. ;)

 Sometimes "knowledge" just gets misplaced. But that can be as much a death to it as the burning of the Library at Alexandria. Sigh. :(

Hi Folks

Just a thought for you. How about using the SBA's Ask Sam system? It might be that Sam recalls more of this than those of us using the websites. Peter Hollins of the SBA is another man with a long memory who might help, or possibly the former editor of Funnel, Brian Smith. Richard Havard is another long term member with an interest in engines who might have some knowledge. I don't think any of them are habitues of this Forum.

Regards

Pete

Good idea Pete, but how does that operate?? Just in the Funnel, write to Ed (or Sam)?

Hi

For the SBA's Ask Sam, I think the question should go first to the Editor who I believe sifts questions if there are enough of them. Back in the days when I wore the Secretary Hat, that was the sort of question that would roll regularly across the desk. I then would scratch my head and bat it on to whoever I felt might know the answer. I imagine that our current Secretary does much the same.
