Just to say hello and to say that I am looking forward to reading about and looking at excellent images of these stylish boats. I do not own a boat at present albeit i have enjoyed hours on a friends steam launch. Smaller craft I know but it had its charms on a Summer's day; a whiff of coal fired smoke, warm oil the slow beat of the engine and the relaxing sailing. Lunch in the cabin aft.

Presently I am building RC model of steam yacht KGS Komet (1911 Bremerhaven) and soon to embark, once I have located plans / detailed photos and measurements, on three others: SY Medea (1904), San Julian and Cangarda.

Perhaps my delight in these boats is because they combine a classical beauty with my love of steam.

Hello indeed, did you mean to reply as a private message rather than in the thread?

Anyway, very good. Where abouts are you based, and which boat does your friend have, small enough world we might even have met! We have a steam narrowboat and are based in the northwest/northmidlands, as you might have seen.
