Good day,

I am planning on creating two Southworth 12" vertical steam pumps, with the intent to sell one.
Currently, however, I have no indication of the sell value of it and I was wondering if someone here does. If someone is interested in buying/commission one (when it is done, I shall create a new topic with pictures and description) then I would love to get into contact with them.

Furthermore, I am curious what material is recommended for the cylinder; cast iron or gun metal?

Thank you in advance.

With kind regards,
Han Smit

For reference the casting cost:
12″ Vertical £295.00 8kg Post and Packing UK £18.00 without Bar Stock (Total £313.00 or currently about $413)

Those are definitely a desirable size and I have heard good things about Southworth.

For your time I wouldn't ask less then $800, and I think you could probably get much more on ebay to be honest. (Please do not take offense if you think that is too low!)

I would go with the bronze for corrosion reasons probably, although the pistons?

As the cost of either bronze or cast iron is the same I would prefer bronze cylinders.
I am half way into building the 6 inch pump, I wish now I went for the 12 inch.
