Welded or Seamless Schedule 80

Hi,
Is seamless Schedule 80 required for boiler construction or is it feasible to use continuous weld ?

Seamless ASTM A-106 pipe is better, but ASTM A-53 welded pipe is also acceptable according to the POWER PIPING Code B31.1 The seamless stuff costs several times the price of A-53 pipe, and I don't see much reason to use seamless in our applications with steam around 100 PSI and temperatures well below 650F.
