Hello
I've been lurking and reading for about 2 weeks. I do not have a boat,an engine or boiler. What I do have is a love of steam.
My biggest interest are steam whistles and sirens, both building and collecting.

I am a self tought machinist, welder and some formal training as an auto mechanic. I have been employed for the last 19 years at a saw sharpening shop where I do machine work and silver soldering of the carbide teeth into the saw bodies.

In the future I would like to build a double simple or a compound from castngs. For the boat itself I am realy liking the Edwardian 26 from Selway-Fisher. For a boiler I like ones with a lower profile Like a side feed locomotive or a dryback scotch.

I also posted in the for sale section with a photo of the sirens I build. I also build whistles.

Frank

Hello and welcome to this place, we all love steam here. I'm from Pennsylvania, near Philadelphia. You?
Your name implies racing, is that so?

Welcome to the forum frank. Your sirens look very interesting, I will post my questions in your other thread.

Lots of steamboaters out your way.

I do not race but have an interest in drag racing.

My address is Milton PA, where Interstate 80 and route 15 cross. Its about 60 miles due north of Harrisburg.
