Re: Three Drum Boilers

Health problems finally behind me so back to finishing the boiler fire bricks and insulation fitted, casing painted and assembled. This is the part when there is a great out flow or money especially 300 PSI steam rated valves I still have to get a safety valve and sort out the piping from steam drum...

Re: Tube Bender

Thanks for the comments, the time it took to make it mean it's true cost is out of this world I enjoyed making it, however as you say Mike, retirement is doing what floats your boat, I do wish I had a 1340 size lathe and a Bridgeport mill the amount of swarf removed from sizing the slabs of steel ha...

Re: Searching For A Boat

Thanks for all the help on this search for a boat post. I have decided not to proceed with the building a boat, lack of building and afterwards storage space being the main reason. When I finish the boiler and with the Ray Hasbrouck No 5 I will have a nice plant to play around with and after looking...

Searching For A Boat

As someone new to steam and steam-boating I have to always be in the learning mode. Vanya just lent me his copy of Steam boating and Modern Steam Launches [this book is on my wish list] and I am intrigued by Bill Durhams article on Water Music a modest proposal, I like the design, this has led me to...
