Well Ive decided to shelve the plans for the 27' tug and go with the identical design but 32' Only 4 1/2 ' feet of headroom in the 27' tug engine room and 6' feet in the 32. Hello Ron, Thanks for the info, every little bit helps. I would hate to spend a large amount of money and then be bummed out because it was totally inadequate. I plan to remove about two feet from the aft face of the wheelhouse, move the stack forward with a vft boiler directly underneath and engine...

attachment shows a 27 foot tug with a displacement of 10600 lbs, dead weight not known. according to the waterline formula it has a hull speed of about 6.25 knots. Can anyone give me an idea of what HP steam engine and size boiler I'm looking at? Sure like to get this nailed down as close as possibl...

I have plans for a 27' wood tug which call for a diesel engine of 130 to 200 hp. How do I convert these figures to the appropriate steam engine hp and boiler? Thanks all

den, many thanks. I'm located in southern maine so I will not be able to go obviously. My project is a 27' x 9'w x 4'd tug ( fairly large displacement) and I'm trying to figure out how big of a steam plant and boiler to purchase or build, although my machinest abilities are limited, I'm a wood boatb...

trying to get some information on the tandem vertical, 3 6 4, 14hp, made by mosquito enterprises ( everett engineering) . is there anyone out there who has one in use or has any experience with this engine.
