Is it a good steam engine design to machine the cylinders out of 6061 aluminum with 303 stainless-steel cylinder liners?
I'm designing a steam motorbike and any weight savings is always best.
I have access to Stuart drawings for building any size engine.
I need around 2-4 HP.
Any constructive advice is much appreciated.
Thanks,
Giovanni

Re: Stuart Steam Engine
Interesting article.
Here is a page a I put together a year or so ago with a few Steambikes on it. I've met both of the owners and they both live here in Michigan.
The bike with the vertical single, the owner said it was about 1/4 horsepower. He has videos on YouTube.
The other bike, I never seen it run or anything. He had his steamboat there and was busy with that.

You could also contact the publishers of "Live Steam Magazine" for back issues with articles covering steam bikes. I remember one from the '80's or '90's covering David Sarlan's steam bike.
