Hello everyone, I'm a freelance journalist in the UK with an interest in canals and canal boats. I'm researching steam boats on UK canals for a magazine piece. There have been many articles on the history, mostly focussing on tunnel tugs on narrow canals and the occasional tug on broader navigations and in docks, but I'd like to write about new boats or boats radically rebuilt as steamers in the relatively recent past. Those built for the sheer cussedness of doing such a thing long past the official 'age of stream'.
If you have one, or know of one, helped build one, supplied the engine or boiler for one, please contact: phil@pthane.co.uk
UK Canal Steam boats?

Welcome to the forum.
There are several members on here involved with canal boats , both modern and authentic. I am sure they will be able to assist you.
