Pictured is one of the feed tank level gages on the ST Portland of Portland OR.
On the bottom of the gage can be seen to the left the copper tube air line, and on the right the knob of the air pump. These gages, with age, will tend to read low as things wear requring more air pressure to drive the needle to the same position. Cleaning and adusting by an insturment or clock repair shop can likley restore proper operation. This one, as you can see, has had the much cheaper, but time tested duct tape calibration applied.
