A friend of mine is nearing completion of an exact replica Simpson Strickland compound, and as its now getting to the stage that fittings are going to be required, he asked me to find a source of suitable cylinder drain cocks. Does anyone know of a source of suitable drain cocks? Location in the world isn't too much of an issue, but getting the right product is! Someone must know a suitable supplier>
Thanks In advance,
Daniel
Wanted: Cylinder Drain cocks
Re: Wanted: Cylinder Drain cocks
I have a bunch of these, they are NOS. I'd sell a few.

Re: Wanted: Cylinder Drain cocks
Thanks for those options, unfortunately neither are suitable. The drain cocks need to be either bent nose cocks like the ones pictured above, but would need to have a thread to attach the pipework too, or alternatively straight cocks with a thread and nut to attach pipework too. Preferably the handles would be round rather than square in shape. I've now attached a picture of the ones on the larger Simpson Strickland

These may be a bit closer but the handles will be different. Maybe you could rework that part.

Dear Daniel ,
I think these are fairly close to what you want. http://www.chanterbiomed.co.uk/boiler_s ... _cocks.htl . SteamboatJack uses them on the Elliott Bay triples he has made/is building .
Regards Edward.

Dear Daniel ,
Apologies , for some reason either the site or my computer repeatedly garbles and corrupts the URL I have tried to paste . It should read :
http:www.chanterbiomed.co.uk/boiler_spares/drain_cocks.html
Hope this works .

Hi Daniel,
Page of search results at Heritage Steam Ltd. for 'cock' (in case forum big brother edits that word; a male chicken...);
http://www.heritagesteamsupplies.co.uk/ ... words=cock
If you know anyone with an original Heritage Steam (using the services of Universal Steam Engineering) recreate old valve designs for restoration projects.
If you still don't find what you are looking for after all the suggestions on here and elsewhere then PM me as I have another option that may be available (nothing mysterious, they just don't want advertising as it's a sideline to their main engineering business).

Thanks for all those suggestions guys. We will be following up a few of those possibilities. If we don't do an accurate replics of the originals, the bottom ones on this page are reasonably close http://www.chanterbiomed.co.uk/boiler_s ... cocks.html Will post more info on the engine when it sees the light of day.
