Southworth 12" Vertical pumps
Jon mentioned a few days ago that I was building a couple pumps for he and I. Just thought I'd share a few pics on the progress.
Someone asked how the castings were. So far, so good. I will post updates as it goes.

Re: Southworth 12" Vertical pumps
Was able to work a little more on these this weekend. Just the endplates of the pump body shown have to be machined yet. Then the assembly starts. This should be a pretty good pump.
The castings are still running very nice, no voids etc.

This is how your pump will look like after assembly and some years of operation...

Maybe it is this one:

No big secrets in this design.
Century's ago I have build this KISS version - less parts - less trouble.
I bought the glass tubes - cut for my needs - in the shop for chemistry supply of the local university for some DM...

Must have.
Refering to the pump as Rainer slipped in a post while I was typing, but the oiler is very nice too.

Making 8 water valves - 4 for each pump. These seem to work really well, they seal up very tight.

I'm impressed with all this Ron, it looks fabulous, but I cannot get my head round what size it is. Please could you add something to your next pic to get an idea of scale from?
