Wetting out bottom

Added 10oz cloth over the 9oz on the transom only.

The next step, after some preparation sanding, is to apply the 10 oz cloth and wet out the sides, then fill the weave on the sides.

Three options here:

1. Cut the hull off the building board and turn it 90 degrees to do wet out and fill coats on each side panel.

2. Apply the cloth and wet out in the bottom up orientation, then Cut the hull off the building board and turn it 90 degrees to do fill coats

3. Do wet out and fill coats on each side panel in the bottom up orientation

Hi Fred,

I glassed the sides while on the strong back. It went fine.

Getting a couple of friends to help is worth the effort to get the pizza and beer.

Sawing the Boat from the Building Board

The fill coat of epoxy on the sides. We decided to turn the hull so the fill coat would be placed on horizontal surface. This minimizes to runs of epoxy, which tends toward drips and runs much more than ordinary paint.

Hull exterior finally glassed and fully coated with epoxy. Keel was added (1.5 in x 3.5 in fiberglassed wood). Turned the hull over on the 19th of September, and racing to get going under steam on the last steamboat meet of the year (near me) on 10 October.
